Seymour
Little Seymour came to us from a livestock auction looking more like a yeti than a mini horse. His coat was overgrown and matted, he was very thin, and his hooves were neglectfully overgrown. He was in so much pain and so weak we assumed he must be old, but he is only 9! Seymour's feet held him back from walking, standing, or existing in comfort. Our first move was to remove the excess hoof, but that does not immediately correct the positioning of his hooves. They had grown at angles pulling his tendons causing terrible pain in his legs. Luckily our farrier had the idea to fit each hoof with a special shoe that allows him to walk on a flat surface even though his hooves are not flat!
Seymour has a long way to go in his recover before we are able to consider placing him adoption.
