These gorgeous girls are Fudgie and Ginger and we are listing them in an attempt to help find them homes because their adopter is moving and can no longer keep them. These girls aren't at Wayward Ranch, but we would be able to help coordinate a meet and greet.

Fudgie first came to us back in 2019, from a local livestock auction who was focusing on camp and trail horses/ponies that weekend and while the only thing we know about her past is that she was a camp horse, we do know that she's absolutely fantastic with children!

It's anyone's guess what breed she actually is - when she first came to us she was in pretty terrible shape and we thought she was most likely a thoroughbred or a standardbred, but she's filled out in her adoptive home and we're pretty sure that she's actually a quarter horse!

Before she was adopted, she was in light work and was ridable at walk/trot/canter and would do some low crossrails. She was ridden a little after her adoption, but mostly just got to hang out and have a well earned rest. It's likely that with a little patience and time, she could be brought back into work, and from what we remember, she was always pretty willing to go out on a trail!

Ginger, on the other hand, came to us after her owner abandoned her and another horse towards the end of 2021, but it was pretty easy to find out her history and we learned that she has previously worked as a trail horse at a commercial trail stable. According to what we were told, she's a haflinger cross who is about 21 years old now.

When she was with us, she was very used to being ridden western and was solid in her walk/trot/lope and trustworthy with pretty much anyone on her back. Her biggest con is that she's on the smaller side (around 13.2-14 hh) and that we didn't have a rider small enough to really fit on her.

Similarly to Fudgie, she hasn't really been ridden since she was adopted, but would do well being brought back into light work. She's also currently pretty chunky, so a light exercise program would most likely be very beneficial for her!

They are both up to date on their vaccines and coggins, so if you are interested in one or both of these girls, let us know!

We are grateful to have had several wonderful photographers donate their time and skill to photograph our animals and their lives here. While many photos on our site were taken by WRAS Staff Members, others were taken by:
