Boba
Boba came to us from the Yonkers Animal Shelter just a short while ago and already we've seen such a change in him!
While he was at the shelter, he was shut down and scared, trying his best to avoid human contact trying not to engage with anyone, but once we took him out of the kennel setting and brought him to a foster home where he's able to have some one on one attention, he's become a whole new dog!
Boba is now friendly, loves to be pet and brushed, does great with the other dogs in his foster home, and appears to be housebroken and crate trained! We haven't had a chance to test him with cats yet, but he hasn't shown any prey drive, so he might be totally fine with them! Because Boba can be anxious around new things, we are currently looking to place him in an adult only home.
We're fairly certain that he's a Shar Pei/Beagle mix, and don't let the pictures fool you, this dude is a little man! He weighs about 25/30 lbs.
Boba has also shown us that he becomes nervous and can be absolutely terrified during any sort of veterinary handling, we are recommending that he be muzzled and sedated for all vet visits, so they can be as stress free as possible for him. This is something that we will keep working on him with, trying to get him used to the different things to show him that vet visits aren't anything to be scared of. Since he's been with us, he's already been trained to wear a basket muzzle comfortably and happily!
