Baloo came to us from a petting zoo called Sugar Sweet Farms that was shutting down. When we arrived to rescue as many pigs as we could, most of the pigs ran from us. They didn’t realize we were trying to catch them to help them. Baloo is the only pig who didn’t run, instead he lay down, asking us to take him with us. It took about twenty minutes and some peanut M&Ms (not something we would normally EVER give our pigs, but it was all that was in the car and desperate times call for desperate measures) and we finally got him to follow us close enough to our car he could be lifted in.

Since Baloo has come to us he has been treated for mange, treated for internal parasites, neutered, and vaccinated. He has learned to trust us more and more each day, and now is ready for his forever home!

Baloo now needs a forever home that will give him the love and care he deserves. We were told he initially lived indoors as a pet pig, so for an experienced owner, there may be a chance he could live indoors again. However, we think he would likely be happiest as an outdoor pig with plenty of mud to roll around in! Baloo could fit into any pig herd or be adopted with a friend (his best friend is named Pua and they would love to be adopted together), but would not be happy as an only pig. He is sweet and gentle with all humans, regardless of age, and is also used to goats, sheep, dogs, and cats.
